What is the cost to send a child to an academic leadership charter school?

When you’ve chosen to send your child to an academic leadership charter school in Raleigh NC, you may be wondering about the cost of attendance.

At the Ravenscroft School, a PreK through 12th grade independent day school, tuition covers the cost of personalized education, excellent extracurriculars, and a robust educational experience for your child.

Tuition Rates

Tuition at Ravenscroft varies by class year. The 2018-19 rates are:

  • Pre-Kindergarten (8 a.m. to 12 noon): $10,395
  • Pre-Kindergarten (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.): $11,455
  • Kindergarten: $14,730
  • Grade 1: $17,795
  • Grade 2: $19,945
  • Grades 3-5: $20,970
  • Grades 6-8: $23,915
  • Grades 9-12: $24,500

In addition to tuition, new families who enroll children for the first time pay a one-time New Family Capital Fee of $1,500. The fee covers maintenance, facilities improvements, landscaping, carpet replacement and repairs to classrooms, playgrounds and fields.

Families with more than one child in the school and who are not on financial assistance qualify for sibling discounts, applied to one tuition (the highest). The discounts are:

  • Second child enrolled: 1.5%
  • Third child enrolled: 2.5%
  • Fourth child enrolled: 3.5%

There are several fees that apply to enrolled students, including a $160 graduation fee (for seniors only) and a $3,000 fee for participation in the optional Academic Skills program.

Financial Assistance

Ravenscroft offers more than $3 million in financial assistance annually. Need-based aid includes several named scholarships for students who are children or grandchildren of alumni, are students of color, are studying the arts and academic achievement.

Application Process

Application deadlines for PreK and Kindergarten are January 4, 2019, and February 1, 2019, for all other grades.  Visit www.ravenscroft.org/admissions to complete the application process.

Applicants are asked to schedule a student visit and complete a screening/assessment (grades preK-5). Applicants must also complete applicable testing requirements, release school records, complete a parent questionnaire and student questionnaire (grades 6-12).
